An Infoday on Horizon 2020, focusing on funding opportunities and project participation was organised on 10 July 2014 in Da Nang, Vietnam by the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) in close collaboration with SEA-EU-NET, and EURAXESS Links ASEAN. The aim of the workshop was to enhance integration, raise awareness and promote cooperation in science and technology between the Southeast Asian countries and the European Union (ASEAN-EU) in the framework program Horizon 2020.

The workshop was attended by Mr Dao Manh Thang, Deputy Director General of NASATI, international experts and speakers, representatives of the Departments, Agencies, Centers, universities, research institutes throughout Vietnam. The Infoday was planned to introduce and enhance the interest of Vietnamese researchers for funding opportunities within the framework of the program Horizon 2020 and to support researchers to participate in projects with European partners in various fields such as health, environment/climate change, transport, energy, food and agriculture. The Workshop also provided more specific information about upcoming Calls for Proposals, how to write a successful European proposal as well as on the technical and financial management. Many participants have found the Workshop very successful in bringing opportunities to local scientists, researchers. It also helped them to access, exchange, share information, seek for potential partners and cooperation possibilities.

Mr Dao Manh Thang, Deputy Director General of NASATI also highlighted that the Infoday on HORIZON 2020 Funding Opportunities and EU Project participation was organized in the right time to promote the new European Framework Program on Science and Technology in Vietnam. The workshop might contribute to a better access to Horizon 2020 and a growing number of Vietnamese partners in the Program.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological
development and demonstration under grant agreement no 311784.
