Framework Conditions
One of the focus areas of the project's analytical work lies on framework conditions for innovation in Southeast Asia. The project is particularly interested in the potential to create a favourable environment for innovation cooperation between Europe and Southeast Asia. Among relevant framework conditions are IPR issues, standards, or public procurement for innovation. The aim of our work is to contribute to actions to develop a "level playing field" for cooperation between the two regions.
During the first two years of the project, we have engaged experts to look at intellectual property rights issues as well as the potential materials transfer agreements (MTA). Please refer to the website of SEA-EU-NET's Science, Technology and Innovation Days 2014 for details and documentation or directly visit:
- the page of the MTA workshop or
- the page of the IPR workshop.

On the issue of demand side support policies and, particularly, public procurement for innovation, a separate workshop was held in 2014 engaging some of the world leading experts in the field. The pdfs of the presentations have been published and the entire workshop was recorded and is available for streaming on youtube.
Consolidating the results of this work, our SEA-EU-NET authors have compiled a report on Framework Conditions for Innovation in Southeast Asia (see attachment).
