Global state of Young Scientists in ASEAN

The current report represents the results of an assessment of the state of young scientists across four ASEAN countries. The need for this study can be traced back to the founding of the Global Young Academy (GYA) itself. In 2008 the InterAcademy Panel: the Global Network of Science Academies and the World Economic Forum brought together outstanding young scientists and scholars from around the world at the WEF’s Annual Meeting of New Champions, or ‘Summer Davos’ in China. At this and subsequent meetings, the experiences and challenges facing young scientists and scholars were aired and key themes identified. And thus the idea for the Global State of Young Scientists study, or GloSYS, was born.
